Mildred R. Weber, a resident of New York Mills, passed away on August 30, 2012. Mildred was the daughter of John F. and Ida S. Weber. She attended local schools, Sacred Heart and St. Francis DeSales High School and the Utica School of Commerce. Millie worked as a private secretary for several local businesses until her retirement in 1981. Millie volunteered for many years for Catholic Charities, Foster Grandmothers and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, with her guide dogs, Trini and Kimber. She was also a member of the Utica Stamp Club, for over 25 years, and served as their secretary during some of that time. Mildred is survived by her daughter, Donna Kilgore (adopted by Leland and Theona Damon of Rome, NY) and her granddaughter, Laura Kilgore Banta, her husband David and great grandchildren Zachary and Ashley Banta. She is also survived by many cousins and special friends. Millie requests, in lieu of flowers, for donations to Guiding Eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Rd., Yorktown Heights, NY 10598. A memorial mass for Mildred will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 10:00 from Our Lady of the Rosary Church, New Hartford.
