Stanley J. Kasprzyk, 84, of Yorkville, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at the St. Luke's Home. Stanley was born in New York Mills on November 13, 1927, a son of Frank and Agnes (Diescz) Kasprzyk. At Sacred Heart Church, Utica, on September 4, 1948, Stanley was united in marriage to Phyllis Pietruch. He served in the Army during the Korean War. For many years, he was employed with Kocyba Construction, and then later, until his retirement in 1987, Stanley was employed with Mohawk Containers. He was a parishioner of The Church of the Sacred Heart and St. Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa. Stanley was a carpenter by trade, but his greatest joy in life was his family. He was a devoted husband and father and extremely proud of all of his children and grandchildren's accomplishments. He was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and also took great pleasure in every Yankees' loss. Stanley is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis; three daughters, Mary Deitch, Bothell, WA, Geralyn Gauthier and John Ball, Whitesboro, and Laurie Kasprzyk, San Diego, CA; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Stanley and Mania Kasprzyk, Jr., Kent, WA, Philip Kasprzyk, Franklin, MA, Donald and Deborah Kasprzyk, Cold Brook, NY, John and Amy Kasprzyk, Oriskany, and Paul and Lisa Kasprzyk, Yorkville; 13 grandchildren, David, Theresa Kasprzyk, Samantha Deitch, Brandon, Nicole, Kory, Kirstyn Kasprzyk, Chelsea Gauthier, Kesha Penree, Olivia, Amanda Kasprzyk, Kaitlen Case and Michael Kasprzyk; four great-grandchildren, Alexander, Nathaniel, Emilee and Cayden; a sister, Mary Kilar, Waterville; a brother, Joseph Kasprzyk, Yorkville; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Stanley was predeceased by a daughter, Christine Marie; a granddaughter, Julia Frances; a sister, Pauline Kernan; and two brothers, Peter and Valentine Kasprzyk. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you for the care and compassion shown by Dr. Jerry Sloan and his staff, The Visiting Nurses Assoc., especially Linda and John, and the staff of Clark North at the St. Luke's Home. Mr. Kasprzyk's funeral with Military Honors will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012, at 12:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, and at 1:00 from the Church of the Sacred Heart and St. Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa, New York Mills. Burial will take place in Sts. Stanislaus & Casimir Cemetery, Whitesboro. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday from 4-7. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Julia F. Kasprzyk Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at the home.
