Rose H. Gigliotti, age 88 of Greenville, IL, formerly of Utica, NY passed away at 3:01AM on Wednesday April 25, 2012 at Greenville Regional Hospital with her son Gabriel A. Gigliotti, daughter, Roseann Gigliotti, Shelly Gigliotti and other family at her side. Rose was born on September 19, 1923 to Angelina and Anthony Perritano in Utica, NY. She married Robert Gigliotti May 10, 1952. She raised her children and resided in Utica until the death of her husband in 2001 after which she moved to Greenville, IL to reside closer to her children. Rose will be fondly remembered for being a little lady with a big heart and an even bigger presence. Her friendliness, compassion and quiet inner strength were an inspiration to all who knew her. Her passing leaves a huge void in the hearts of her family and her many friends at The Glenwood Assisted Living Facility. Rose is survived by her son, Gabriel A. Gigliotti, LTC, USAF,Ret. and wife, Shelly, of Greenville, IL; daughter, Roseann E. Gigliotti (Smith), of Marion, IA. Five Grandchildren: Christopher M. Gigliotti (wife, Wendy) of Macon GA, Matthew G. Gigliotti (wife Maia) of Belleville, IL, Valerie A. Smith-Mitchem of Saranac NY, Richard L. Smith and Amy M. Smith of Cedar Rapids, IA. Two Step-Grandchildren, Joshua O. Boyd (wife Andrea) of Fairfield, IL and Jacob L. Boyd, A1C,USAF of Tinker AFB OK. Nine great-grandchildren: Gates C. and Avery J. Gigliotti of Macon GA; Isaiah, Emmamual, Ezikiel, and Josiah Neer of Saranac, NY; Robert A. Smith, Alexia M. Smith and Brandon Buttler of Cedar Rapids, IA, a baby boy due in August in Belleville. Two step-great grandchildren, Bryndon O. Boyd and Bryan M. Smith of Fairfield, IL. She is also survived by and numerous nieces and nephews, brother and sister in-laws. Rose was also blessed with many good friends in Utica, NY and Greenville, IL Rose was predeceased by parents, Anthony and Angelina Perritano, husband, Robert E. Gigliotti, infant son, Thomas Gigliotti, sister, Mary Farina and brother-in-law, Anthony Farina, nephew, Anthony Farina and wife, Barbara, all of Utica, NY. Son-in-law, Richard L. Smith, of Cedar Rapids, IA. Mrs. Gigliotti's funeral services were held April 29, 2012 at Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home, in Greenville, IL with Father Vic Kaltenbach officiating, Visitation will be held at Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, NY on Saturday, May 26, 2012 from 9 - 11 AM, with interment of cremains to immediately follow at St Agnes Cemetery, Utica.
