New Hartford – Grace Mary Burton, 90, a resident of the Presbyterian Home for CNY, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017, at the home. Grace was born December 22, 1926, in Utica, NY, the daughter of William and Anna (Hiemenz) Williams. She was raised and educated in Whitesboro, and a graduate of Whitesboro High School. On March 2, 1946, Grace married Jack W. Burton, in St. Joseph’s Church, Utica. Mr. Burton passed away in 1988. She had been employed with St. Elizabeth Hospital. Grace was a member of the Molson Jones VFW Post # 7393, Yorkville. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Grace is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rhoda and James Bednar, New Hartford; grandchildren, Lisa Burke, William (& Kim) Fernalld, Jr., Kim (& John) Farruggia, Rebecca (& Greg) Williams, Jason Burton, Meaghen Burton; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Jacob, Cailyn, Stephen, David, Maxwell, Delainey, Andrew; great-great-grandchild, Mason. Besides her husband, Grace is predeceased by her son, Jack, Jr.; and two brothers, William, Jr., and Robert Williams. Mrs. Burton’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 12 pm at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Utica. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home, Wednesday morning, from 10 am – 12 pm, prior to the service. The family would like to thank Dr. George Kozminski and his nurse, Carol, for many years of wonderful care and kindness; as well as the nurses and staff of the Presbyterian Home for CNY, for the care and compassion shown to Grace during her stay.
