Jon C. Hynes, 67, of Utica, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012 at the Heritage Health Care Center, in Utica. Jon was born in Utica on January 19, 1945, the son of John and Rema (Hilts) Hynes. He was raised and educated locally. Jon went on to graduate from college in NYC with a degree in electronics. He was a self employed plumber in the Utica area, but will be remembered as a jack of all trades. Jon belonged to several computer clubs. He was a musician, who belonged to several bands in his younger years. He was a base guitarist, yet talented enough to play several instruments. Jon belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Whitesboro. Jon is survived by five daughters, Janice and Warren McCullough, VA, Sandy Hynes and her companion, Jeremy Vaughn, TX, Rema Hynes and her companion, Arthur Brady, Utica, Sherry Hynes, Utica, Patti Hynes, Utica; three sons, Jon Jr., and Tracy Hynes, Clay, Shawn Hynes, Floyd, Billy Hynes, Utica. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren. He is predeceased by two brothers, John Hynes and David Hynes. Mr. Hynes funeral service will be held on Thursday evening, April 5, 2012 at 7:00 pm at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, with Bishop Roger Poland presiding. Interment, in Riverside Cemetery, Beaver Falls, will take place at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 5 - 7 pm prior to the funeral service.
