Marian Kennerknecht Luley, 85, of Whitesboro, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012. Marian was born in Utica on August 30, 1926 a daughter of Robert and Mildred (Chabott) Kennerknecht. At St. Joseph's Church, Utica on June 2, 1951 she married Leo J. Luley, a blessed union of 32 years until his death in 1983. Marion started her work career with the F.X. Matt Brewing Co. then later with the New York Telephone Co. After her children were grown she worked as a home healthcare aide. Marian was a member of Sacred Heart Church until its closing and currently a parishioner of Our Lady of The Rosary Church, New Hartford and a summer parishioner of St. Patrick's Church, Forestport. She was a member of the St. Elizabeth's Guild and for many many years was a volunteer at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. During the summer Marian enjoyed spending time at her camp in Forestport. Marian is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Anne and David Esch, Barneveld, two sons and daughter-in-law, Robert Luley and Elizabeth VanDyke, Whitesboro and Donald and Eileen Luley, Barneveld, 8 grandchildren and spouses, Robert Luley, Fort Mill, SC, Ryan and Andrea Luley, Pembroke Pines, FL, Kristina and Mark Webb, Whitesboro, Dennis and Kim Esch, Barneveld, Katie and Chad Clark, New Hartford, Sarah and Justin Kraham, Simpsonville, SC, Abigail Luley and Adam Hagerty, Oneida, NY, and Thomas Luley, Barneveld, four sisters and a brother-in-law, Doris and John Bergin, Ilion, Arlene McNally, Whitesboro, Joan Kelly, Utica and Irene Seidler, SC and a special cousin, Helen Kennerknecht, New Hartford. Marian is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Marian was predeceased by a grandson, Michael Luley in 2011, a sister, Adeline Halpin, and 3 brothers, Robert, Alvin and Edward Kennerknecht. Mrs. Luley's funeral will be held on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 9:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and at 10:00 from Our Lady of The Rosary Church, New Hartford. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral are Sunday from 4-7. Those so wishing may make donations to the St. Elizabeth's Guild in Marian's memory.
