Matthew Weimer, 56, of Clinton, NY, passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2012. Matt was born February 12, 1956, the son of Paul and Alice (Fay) Weimer. Matt was a 1974 graduate of Clinton Central School. He later attended Pierce and Utica Colleges. Matt was a veteran of the United States Army, having served his country proudly as a field medic in the 42nd Scouting Infantry. Matt was a local contractor, bartender, and disc-jockey with AM radio for a short period of time. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Clinton, and a friend of the Kirkland Town Library. Matt is survived by two sisters and a brother; Noreen Weimer of Wildwood, FL, Catherine and her husband, John Tata, of Newport News, VA. and Peter Weimer of Oswego, NY. He also leaves nine nieces and nephews , several great nieces and nephews, and aunts, uncles, and cousins. Matt was pre-deceased by his parents; a sister, Fay Weimer; and two brothers, Paul Jr., and Joseph Weimer. A graveside Memorial Service for family and friends will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Cemetery, with the Rev. John Croghan officiating.
