Louise Dolores Abbott, 87, of Utica, went to be with our Lord on February 13, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Utica on January 27, 1925, the daughter of Joseph & Anna (Bifolco) Zasa. In June of 1948, Louise married Leo Abbott. Together they had four children whom she loved so dearly. Louise was a loving and devoted wife and mother. With her strong faith, she was and will always be a constant inspiration. Her family will always remember the times spent gathered around the kitchen table for Sunday dinners laughing, talking, and enjoying being together. Louise is survived by her husband Leo Abbott; one son & daughter in-law Glenn & Sharon Abbott; three daughters, Ann Louise & special friend Amadeo J Torchia Jr, Rebecca Dunn, & Joann Veinot & her fiancé Mark York; her grandchildren, Heather Dunn & fiancé Leon Koziol, Chris Baker & fiancé Angela Guilisano, Lee & Marissa Veinot, Mark Baker, Andrea & Mike Kelly, Andrew & Tara Abbott, Lorraine & David Wortz, Ashley Abbott & fiancé Nicholas Betrus; great grandchildren Brendan & Colin Kelly, Tyler Abbott, Joseph, Michael & Luke Veinot, Audrina & Nathan Baker. Louise is also survived by one sister & brother-in-law, Carmela & Joseph Abbott, one brother, Sam Zasa, sister-in-law Carol Zasa & brother-in-law Joseph Tocco; and many nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Theresa Tocco and her brother, Rocco Zasa. There will be a private service for immediate family at Heintz Funeral Home. Family & friends may attend a mass of Christian Burial in her honor at St. Mary Mount Carmel Church on Friday, February 17th at 10am. Her family would like to give a special thanks to the Gordon Unit at the Katherine Lutheran Home for their care and compassion.
