James F. Pronteau, Jr., 54, of Oneida passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 31, 2012. James was born in Utica on November 1, 1957 a son of James F. Pronteau, Sr. and the late Mary Lou (Taylor) Pronteau. He was a 1975 graduate of Notre Dame High School and later graduated from Mohawk Valley Community College and St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer, IN. In Utica in 1989 James married Tamia Hart. For 13 years he was employed with the City of Utica at City Hall and was currently employed at the Maxwell House of Liberty Resources in Oneida, NY. James always enjoyed singing, especially singing in the choir at Christ United Methodist Church in Sherrill, NY. James is survived by his father James Pronteau, Sr., Utica, his two children, Brendan Pronteau and Shannon Pronteau and their mother Tamia Pronteau, Utica, his brother Robert Pronteau and Debra Lewis, Utica and his special friend and companion, Elizabeth Dittmar and her daughter, Amanda Dittmar, Oneida. James was predeceased by his mother Mary Lou Pronteau on December 26, 1995. Mr. Pronteau's funeral will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 9:45 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and at 10:30 from Our Lady of The Rosary Church, New Hartford.
