Obituary of Frances F. Harrington

Frances F. Harrington, 88, a resident of Valley Health Services in Herkimer, formerly of Whitesboro, passed away Monday, January 24, 2012 at the home. Frances was born in Utica on October 20, 1923, the daughter of John and Rose (Catruzzola) Cittadino. She was raised and educated in Utica, and after high school, went to work at the Ben Franklin Store. In 1947, Frances married Victor F. Sirianni. Mr. Sirianni passed away in 1959. In 1971, Frances married John (Jack) R. Harrington. Mr. Harrington passed away in 2003. Frances was employed with several business through the years, including Robert Hall Clothing Store in Yorkville, Doyle-Knower in New Hartford, Utica Duxback, and owned and operated the Hyland Tower restaurant in Utica. Her next venture was her catering and pastry shop in Whitesboro that she ran until her retirement. Frances had belonged to St. Anne's Church in Whitesboro, before its closing. She enjoyed gardening, playing Bingo, and was involved with the New York Mills Seniors. Frances is survived by a son, John Sirianni, PA; a daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Jim Allen, Whitesboro; a special step-daughter and her husband, Patricia and Mike Murray, AZ; a step-grandson and his wife, Ronald and Theresa Fazio, Rome; a sister-in-law, Muriel Cittadino, New Hartford; nine nieces and nephews and their spouses, Elaine and Dean Burrows, Liverpool, Rosella and Rocco Pandolfo, New Hartford, Laurie and David Lloyd, Webster, NY, Angela and Charles (Skeebo) Payne, WV, Ann Rampino, VA, Peter and Lorraine Cittadino, East Herkimer, John and Barbara Cittadino, Whitesboro, Francis and Virginia Citro, WV, Francis (Chick) Sirianni, Whitesboro, as well as numerous great nieces and great nephews. She is predeceased by a daughter, Rose Ann Sirianni; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Frank Citro; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Peter Cittadino, Joseph and Nancy Cittadino; in laws, Edith and Sam Scalise, Irene and Emory Siriannie, Philip and Mary Sirianni, Raymond and Mary Sirianne; a special niece, Lucretia (Dolly) Dutcher; a special nephew, Benjamin Scalise. A Memorial Mass will be held for Frances on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 2:30 pm at St. Mary Mt. Carmel Church in Utica. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery will take place privately at the convenience of the family. Those wishing may donate to The House of the Good Shepherd in Frances' memory.
