Robert "Bootsman" Guca New York Mills Robert "Bob" Guca, 51, of New York Mills passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 3, 2012. Bob was born in Utica on September 24, 1960 a son of Dolores (Perlock) Guca and the late Alfred Guca. He received his education locally and was a graduate of Notre Dame High School. Bob was currently employed with Daimler Buses North America. He was a member of St. Joseph's & St. Patrick's Church, Utica, and V.F.W. Post # 7393 New York Mills. Bob's favorite pastimes were golfing and playing softball. He had a love of watching baseball and football and was an avid Mets and Dolphins fan. Bob is survived by his mother, Dolores Guca, New York Mills, a sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Patrick O'Grady, Mooresville, NC, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Lynn Guca, Utica and Thomas and Sharon Guca, N.Y. Mills, nieces and nephews, Zachary Guca, Brian Guca, Thomas Guca, Jr., Michelle Guca and fiancée Christopher Mahoney, Daniel O'Grady, Kayla O'Grady and Carly O'Grady, aunts and uncles, Cioci Hanna and Uncle Johnny Rombutis, Cioci Jean and Uncle Monte Perlock and Uncle Eddie Wojnas and many cousins and good friends. Bob was predeceased by his father, Alfred Guca in 1995. Mr. Guca's funeral will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 9:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and at 10:00 from St. Joseph's & St. Patrick's Church, Utica. Burial will be in St.'s Stanislaus & Casmir Cemetery, Whitesboro. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 4-8. Those so wishing may make to donations to the American Heart Association's Heart Run and Walk in Bob's memory, in which the family will walk in honor of him. Bob's family would like to thank the New York Mills Police and Fire Departments, Kunkel Ambulance Service and the ER staff of Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, especially Jennifer, for all their care and compassion. The Ladies Auxiliary of the New York Mills Fire Department will meet at the funeral home this evening at 5:00 for a prayer service.
