Marion (Rizzo) Tenenini, 91, of Clayville, formerly of Clinton, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center. Marion was born in Utica on June 25, 1920 one of nine children to Frank and Assunta (Ambruso) Rizzo. In Utica in 1943 she married Claude Winters. In New York City in 1965 Marion married Peter Tenenini. Mr. Tenenini passed away in 2009. Marion was employed as a waitress until she was 75. She began her career at the Hotel Utica, later working at the Persian Terrace of the Hotel Syracuse, Seneca Inn, Rizzo's Restaurant, Alfredo's and the Elks Club. She was passionate about waitressing and to Marion "Waitressing was like going out every night." Marion is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Craig Ferguson of Jordan, NY and Claudia (Cookie) and Terry Dote of Clayville, NY, three grandsons, Terry Dote Jr. and Ginny Brown, Portland, OR, Eric Ferguson and Nicole Marlowe, Solvay, NY and Timothy and Coryn Ferguson, Baldwinsville, NY, a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Candy Rizzo, Utica, two sisters-in-law, Kay Brown, Utica and Joanne Rizzo, CA, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews especially acknowledging a special niece whom Marion had a special bond with, Diane and John Petzke and little Bella who brought her so much joy, a lifelong friend, Julia Bryne and her special visitor, Jeanie Emery. Marion was predeceased by seven siblings, John Rizzo, Philomena Carciofolo, Theresa Rizzo, Rocco Rizzo, Pasquale Rizzo, Rose Cotrupe and Dominick Rizzo. Mrs. Tenenini's funeral will be held on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 9:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and at 10:00 from Our Lady of The Rosary Church, New Hartford. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday (Today) from 4-7. In lieu of flowers those so wishing may make donations to St. Jude's Children Hospital in Marion's memory.
