JoAnn "Pudge" M. Crouse, 70, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011 at her home after a long illness. JoAnn was born in Utica on November 16, 1940, the daughter of Oliver and Helen (Fellows) Duff. She was raised and educated in Utica. In 1975, JoAnn married Ronald C. Crouse. Mr. Crouse passed away in 1998. JoAnn worked for Chicago Pneumatic until 1976, and then for the Observer-Dispatch newspaper until her retirement. She was of the Protestant faith. JoAnn is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Derek and Brittany Crouse, Clinton; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Ronni and Derrick Adrian, Colorado, Kim Duff, Utica, Barbara and John Burnett, Georgia; 13 beloved grandchildren, Gary, Jeanne, Randy, Jesse, Traci, John, Christa, Tyler, Ryli, Jacob, Gage, LeAnna, and Caleb, as well as by 13 great grandchildren; 3 sisters and a brother-in-law, Jeanne Latray, Utica, Sonja Jaquays, Yorkville, Janie and Ronnie Marsdon, Whitesboro; a brother, Jimmy Duff, Utica; her lifelong friend, Debbie Danquer, New Hartford; and her canine companions, Charlie and Dakota. Also surviving are six stepchildren and their families, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two sisters, Lori "Peewee" Vito and Linda LaGray; and two brothers, Donnie Duff and Oliver Duff, Jr. Ms. Crouse's funeral will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 7:00 pm at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Interment in Crown Hill Memorial Park will take place privately at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home, Thursday evening, from 4 - 7 pm, prior to the funeral service. JoAnn's family would like to express their thanks and sincere appreciation to Dr. Butala, his nurses and staff, for the care and compassion shown to JoAnn while in his care.
