Mr. David B. Moore, Jr., 71, of N. Utica passed away unexpectedly on Friday September 23, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica. David was born in Rome, NY on April 13, 1940, the son of David B. and Rose A. (Kohl) Moore. He was raised in Port Leyden and was a graduate of Port Leyden High School. On July 8, 1961, David married Phyllis A. Lalonde at Zion Lutheran Church in New Hartford, a blessed union of 50 years which the couple celebrated this past July. He was employed as a truck driver with LK Distributors and for many years with Caparelli Brothers until his retirement. David was a member of Teamsters Local 182 and Zion Lutheran Church in New Hartford. He enjoyed hunting, taking care of his gold fish, tending to his flower garden and fish pond and was proud of his collection of homing pigeon. Mr. Moore is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis; one daughter, Judith Moore of Port Leyden, NY; one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Brenda Moore of N. Utica; four cherished grandchildren, Amanda Gay and her husband Daniel of Boonville, Richard Narbone of Lyons Falls, NY, Cassandra Bombardier of Albany and Rebecca Moore of N. Utica; three adored great grandchildren, Zachery Gay, Lilianna Moore and Elyzabeth Narbone and he was looking forward to the birth of his 4th great grandchild; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold and Beverly Marolf of Clinton and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, David and Rosa. Mr. Moore's funeral will be held on Monday September 26, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Interment in Boonville Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours for family and friends are Monday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
