Obituary of Veronica Techmanski

Veronica "Choch" Techmanski, 88, a resident of the Lutheran Homes in Clinton, passed away Friday, September 16, 2011, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center in New Hartford. Veronica was born in Marcy, NY, on January 14, 1923, the daughter of John and Anna (Drewniak) Techmanski. She was raised and educated in Marcy, where she attended a one-room schoolhouse. In 1942, she graduated from Whitesboro High School. Choch had been employed for many years with Remington Arms and later with Chicago Pneumatic, retiring in 1987. She spent many of her retirement years caring for her parents as well as distributing new and used clothing to the needy. She had a heart of gold and gave generously to anyone in need. Choch had lived in Marcy, Utica, Clark Mills, Whitestown, and Oriskany Falls before moving to The Lutheran Homes in Clinton in 2008. She was a communicate of St. Anne's Church before it closed, and then of St. Paul's Church in Whitesboro. Choch is survived by three sisters and a brother-in-law, Bridget (Peggy) and Thomas Rhodes, Syracuse, Helen Sojda, Whitesboro, and Julie Zombek, Oriskany Falls; one sister-in-law, Gladys Techmanski, New Hartford. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins, including a special niece, Judy Sefcheck, who attended to her personal affairs. Besides her parents, Choch is predeceased by two brothers, Walter Techmanski (who passed as a child) and Stefan Techmanski; a nephew, Dr. William Zombek; two brothers-in-law, Walter Sojda and Stanley Zombek. Miss Techmanski's funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 11:30 am at St. Paul's Church in Whitesboro, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Whitestown. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton, Tuesday evening, from 5 - 8 pm. Those wishing may donate to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Veronica's memory. The family would like to thank the staff of the Lutheran Home for tha care and comfort given to her, especially with the frequent visits and gifts, during her stay. "Goodbye, beloved Sister. You will be sadly missed by many."
