Obituary of Anna I. Pulice

Mrs. Anna I. Pulice, 78, of Utica passed away unexpectedly Thursday June 16, 2011 at Oneida Healthcare Center with her loving family by her side. Anna was born December 8, 1932 in Filadelfia, Italy (CZ. Calabria) the daughter of Girolamo and Carmella (Ruscio) Bevivino. On January 29, 1956, Anna married Benito Pulice, a loving and devoted union of 32 years until Benito's death in 1988. In 1964, Anna and Benito along with their three children came to the United States and made their home in Utica. As a devout member of the former Sacred Heart Church in Utica and Historic Old St. John's Church in Utica, her strong belief in God and devotion to her religion was evident in the way she lived her life. She will be remembered as an independent woman whose passion for cooking was enjoyed often by her family and friends. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Anna truly enjoyed the company of her beloved family especially during the holidays. Mrs. Pulice is survived by her daughter, Adele Bevan of NY City; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Dominick Pulice of Utica and Jerry Sr., and Karen Pulice of Utica; two cherished grandchildren who were the light of her life, Jerry Pulice, Jr. and Adele Marie Pulice both of Utica; three brothers and five sisters-in-law, Mario and Gianna Bevivino of Utica, Giuseppe and Donatella Bevivino, Domenico and Lina Bevivino, Melina Bevivino and Maria Bevivino all of Italy; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Maria and Vincenzo Carchedi, Esther and Aldo Antonacci and Francesca Bevivino all of Italy and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Vito Bevivino and Antonio Bevivino. Mrs. Pulice's funeral will be held on Tuesday June 21, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Historic Old St. John's Church where her mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville will be held at the convenience of her family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Historic Old St. John's Church in Anna's memory. Mrs. Pulice's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Alberto Delpino and his staff of Oneida Surgical Group for the excellent care provided to Anna. A special thank you to the staff of Oneida Healthcare Center especially, Patty and Mary in the ICU for the wonderful care and compassion given to Anna and her family during this most difficult time.
