Mrs. Dorothy S. Dygert, 81, a resident of Heritage Health Care in Utica formerly of Heritage Acres in N. Utica passed away on Friday June 3, 2011 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford. Dorothy was born in Pennsylvania on June 15, 1929 the daughter of Joseph and Nellie (Kelly) Abbott and received her education in Pennsylvania and Utica. At one time, Dorothy was married to Stanley Bogacz and later to Francis Dygert. She was employed with General Electric Company, Mele Manufacturing Company and for many years with ConMed Corporation until her retirement. Dorothy was a member of the Moose Club, enjoyed dancing and was of the Catholic faith. Mrs. Dygert is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stanley, Jr. and Esther Bogacz of Rome; three grandchildren, Adam Bogacz and his wife Melissa of Whitesboro, Stanley Bogacz, III of Rome and Holly Bogacz of Utica; two great grandchildren, Colin and Elena Bogacz; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Leo and Louise Abbott of Utica, Joseph and Carmella Abbott of NY Mills and Earl and Ann Abbott of PA and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Francis Dygert and a sister, June Abbott. Mrs. Dygert's funeral will be held on Wednesday June 8, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica. Calling hours for family and friends are Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
