Carol M. Martin, 57, of Utica passed away on Thursday June 2, 2011 at the Abraham House with her loving family by her side. Carol was born in Utica on December 18, 1953 the daughter of Angeline (Paladino) Martin and the late Lawrence Martin. She was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy and Mohawk Valley Community College. Until her illness Carol was employed with the House of The Good Shepherd and prior to this she was employed with Tri-State Industrial Laundries and APAC. She was a member of St. Anthony and St. Agnes Church, Utica, the Business and Professional Women's Association and a board member of the Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Carol is survived by her beloved mother, Angie Martin of Utica, two aunts, Irene Schreppel, New Hartford and Ann Carpenter, FL, her adopted sister, Cheryl Kramer, FL, special friends, Joe and Karen Makuch, Utica and Joe and Christine Mead, Ilion, and many cousins and dear friends. Carol was predeceased by her father Larry Martin on November 25, 1991. Carol's funeral will be held on Monday June 6, 2011 at 10:30 from St. Anthony and St. Agnes Church, Utica. Entombment will be in the Calvary Mausoleum. There are no calling hours. Please omit flowers those so wishing may make donations to St. Anthony and St. Agnes Church or the Abraham House. The family would like to thank the staff of the Abraham House for all the loving care they gave to Carol.
