Mrs. Catherine H. Morgan, 100 of Whitesboro passed away on Monday May 23, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica. Catherine was born October 4, 1910 in Fort Plain, NY the daughter of John J. and Eva (Van Camp) Hayes. She was raised and educated in Fort Plain and Utica. On October 7, 1932, Catherine married Stanley Thomas Morgan at St. Mary's Church in Baldwinsville, NY, a devoted union of 52 years until Stanley's death in 1984. She was employed with various department stores, including, Neisners Department Store and later with St. Luke's Memorial Hospital Center in New Hartford. Catherine was a former parishioner of St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church in Utica and a current parishioner of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Whitesboro. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed playing pinochle. Mrs. Morgan is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Richard Orr of Whitesboro; three sons and one daughter-in-law, James Morgan of Illinois, Frederick and Patricia Morgan of Clark Mills and William Morgan of Whitesboro; 8 grandchildren, Michelle, Denise, Jamie, Scott, Cindy, Jeffrey, Lisa and Deborah; one sister, Mary Hayes of Syracuse; one brother, Robert Hayes of Syracuse and many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grand daughter, Diane Morgan; four sisters, Dorothy Shepherd, Evelyn Boldt, Margaret Morgan and Frances Brossett and one brother, Walter Hayes. Mrs. Morgan's funeral will be held on Friday May 27, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Whitesboro where her mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro. Calling hours for family and friends are Friday morning from 9:00-11:00 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St. Utica. In lieu of flowers, please consider having a Mass offered for Catherine at St. Paul's Church in Whitesboro. Mrs. Morgan's family wishes to express their gratitude to the doctor's and staff of the St. Elizabeth Residency Program and St. Elizabeth Home Care for the wonderful care and compassion you provided to Catherine.
