Kotzie D. Fischer, 76, of North Utica passed away on Friday May 20, 2011. Kotzie was born in Bruce, Mississippi on September 23, 1934 a daughter of the late Leslie and Eurafair (Coleman) Johnson. On July 25, 1954 Kotzie was united in marriage to Roger C. Fischer a blessed union of 40 years until his death on November 13, 1994. Kotzie was very devoted to her grandchildren. She especially looked forward to spending time with her family. They were Kotzie's greatest joy. It was even more special when the time she spent with them was in visiting her favorite place, Raquette Lake. It was a place of deep contentment that she enjoyed and cherished. Kotzie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and Corky Risley, N. Utica, her three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Mary Fischer, NC, David and Wanda Fischer, Barneveld, and Aaron and Marybeth Fischer, N. Utica, 8 grandchildren, Steven (Chrissy) Fischer, NC, Katie (Chadd) Fischer, NC, Michael Fischer, Heather Fischer, Roger Risley, Andrew Risley, Roger Fischer and Tanya Monjak all of Utica, a great granddaughter, Abigail Fischer, 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne Johnson, TN, Larry and Geraldine Johnson, TX and Willie and Paula Johnson, OK, in-laws, Dorothy Johnson, TN, Betty Duck, Utica and Gary and Ann Fischer, Utica and many nieces and nephews. Kotzie was predeceased by 2 brothers, Leslie Sylvester Johnson and Jimmy Johnson. Mrs. Fischer's funeral service will be held on Tuesday May 24, 2011 at 11:00 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Utica. Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday from 6-8 and Tuesday from 10-11. Those so wishing may make donations to the Alzheimer's Association or the Raquette Lake Ambulance Service. Kotzie's family would like to thank the Visiting Nurses of Utica especially Kristian, Sue and Phyllis and the Visiting Nurses and Home Health Aids of Hamilton County who made Kotzie's last summer at camp an enjoyable one.
