Obituary of Linda Joyce Abraham

Linda Markason Abraham New Hartford Linda Joyce (Markason) Abraham, 69, of New Hartford, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Community Hospice Center of St. Peter's Hospital in Albany after a brief illness with her family and dearest friends by her side. Linda was born February 15, 1942 in Sidney, NY, the daughter of Thomas and Anastasia (Slovak) Knoetgen. She was raised and educated in Mount Upton, graduating from Mount Upton High School. Linda went on to graduate from beauty school and was a hair stylist at Joanne Fanelli's Hair Fashions in Utica. On September 12, 1998, Linda was united in marriage with James F. Abraham. Mr. Abraham passed away in April of this year. Linda had many interests, including cooking, gardening and traveling, especially her annual trips she took with her girlfriends. She especially enjoyed spending her time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Linda was of the Catholic faith and attended services at the Newman Center at Utica College. Linda is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Robert Stoller, PA; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Tammy Markason, AZ, Steven and Elizabeth Markason, WY; two cherished grandchildren, Jake and Sam Stoller, PA; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan and Emil Routhier, MA, Judy and Michael Manzo, MA, Mary and Bob Spencer, McDonough, NY; as well as by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Mrs. Abraham's Memorial Mass and Celebration of her Life will take place Monday afternoon, May 23, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Newman Center at Utica College. Family will greet visitors following the Mass to continue celebrating Linda's life. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family. Linda's family asks that instead of floral offerings, it would make Linda happy if donations were made to The Hospice Inn - Community Hospice of Albany County, 315 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208 or to a charity of your choice in her memory. Linda passed away with as much grace and dignity with which she lived. She will always be loved, cherished, and remembered as a loving mother, daughter, sister, mima, friend and caretaker. Linda was an amazing and compassionate woman.
