James E. Rightmier, 68, of Liverpool, formerly of Utica, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse. Jim was born in Utica on February 22, 1943, the son of Earl and Mabel (Luther) Rightmier. He was raised and educated in Utica. In 1960, Jim joined the US Air Force and after he served his term, continued with the Air Force Reserves. He was employed for over twenty years with Swift Independent Packing. He later went to work as the accountant for Auburn Nursing Home until his retirement. Jim enjoyed spending time at his camper and fishing with his brother on Lake Ontario. Jim is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Amy Rightmier, Floyd; a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Fran Rightmier, Utica; a sister, Margie Cox, California; his longtime sweetheart of over 20 years, Fay Hayes, Liverpool, and her sons, Rick Hayes, Cicero, Robert Hayes and his family, Texas. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services for Mr. Rightmier will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Road, N. Utica.
