Hurley F. McDougall, 80, of Yorkville, passed away Monday, April 11, 2011 at Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare Center in New Hartford. Hurley was born in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada on February 2, 1931, the son of John R. and Rita (Seguin) McDougall. He was raised and educated in Canada. Hurley worked for the Laborer's International Union of North America, Local #35, Utica. He worked in construction through the union and therefore was contracted with many local construction companies. Hurley was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Utica. Hurley is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Jim Zecca, Utica; a son, Devin, Herkimer; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Theresa McDougall, Massena; a sister and brother-in-law, Rita and John Wheeler, California; and by his loving companion, Jeanette Karpe, Yorkville. He is predeceased by a brother, Allan McDougall, and by three sisters, Maureen Hosey, Myrna Cook, and Anna Grace Owens. Mr. McDougall's funeral will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 10:30 am at the Church of the Sacred Heart and St. Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa, New York Mills, where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum of Holy Trinity Cemetery, Whitestown will take place at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Those wishing may offer Masses in Hurley's memory. Arrangements are entrusted to the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica.
