Elizabeth R. (Betty) Quinn, 87, of Sauquoit died at her home on Tuesday March 29, 2011. Betty was born on the family farm in Clayville, NY on August 5, 1923. The daughter of George and Ella (Falk) Seubert she had ten siblings George (Catherine) Seubert, Helen Seubert, Kathleen (Robert) Owens, Raymond (Dolores) Seubert, Claire (Neil) Ehlinger, Mary (Ralph) Wuest, Agnes (Louis) Hellenbrand, Robert (Rose) Seubert, Joseph (Isabel) Seubert, and Louis (Dolores) Seubert. She attended St. Joseph's Elementary School and left Utica Free Academy before graduating and later was proud of returning to school to earn her GED in the early 1970's. Betty worked at Utica Mutual Insurance Co. for several years before her marriage. On March 3, 1945 she married William F. Quinn in Childress, TX. In the 1970's she worked in Manhattan as a "Kelly Girl" when she and William lived there for several years. Betty was a parishioner of St. John The Evangelist Church, New Hartford. Known as the family story teller and comedianne, Betty was beloved by her many nieces and nephews. Betty is survived by her husband of 66 years, William and her three children, Thomas (Julie) Quinn of Syracuse, Peter (Connie Ruldoph) Quinn of Nashville, TN and Kathleen Quinn of Canandaigua, NY, three grandchildren Shaman (Cynde) Quinn of Contoocook, NH, Solon Quinn of Syracuse and Meaghan Quinn of Ithaca, NY, a sister, Agnes Hellenbrand of Cross Plains, WI and a brother, Louis (Dolores) Seubert of Utica. Mrs. Quinn's funeral will be held on Saturday April 2, 2011 at 9:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and at 10:00 from St. John The Evangelist Church, New Hartford. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Yorkville. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 4-7.
