Stanley J. Mical, 90, of Deerfield passed away on Tuesday March 22, 2011 at his home. Stanley was born in Utica on April 30, 1920 the son of Wojciech (George) and Antonia (Grygiel) Mical. He proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. On November 27, 1947 at St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Utica Stanley was united in marriage to Anne Pitcova a blessed union of 49 years until her passing away in 1996. Stanley ran his own dairy farm in Deerfield. He was a member of St. Mark's Church, N. Utica, American Legion Leon R. Roberts Post #161, Holland Patient, VFW John A. Lapolla Post #8728, Schuyler, Deerfield Democratic Club and a former member of the Schuyler Seniors. Stanley is survived by his four daughters and three sons-in-law, Barbara and Walter Mierek, Westernville, Evelyn Mierek, Holland Patient, Linda and Martin Mierek, Deerfield and Gloria and Gregory Kasprowicz, Deerfield, 14 grandchildren and spouses, Walter and Lisa Mierek, David and Mandy Mierek, Andrew Mierek, Brenda and Gregory Toussaint, Melissa, Peter Jr. and Laura Mierek, Matthew and Anja Mierek, Patrick and Jillian Mierek, Stephanie Mierek, Timothy and Julie Mierek, Alicia and Joel Abdul, Benjamin Kasprowicz and Daryl Kasprowicz, a sister, Eva Fedor, Whitesboro, a brother, John Mical, CT and a sister-in-law, Jennie Maziarz, Schuyler. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Stanley was predeceased by 3 brothers Frank, Walter and Edward Mical and 2 sisters, Victoria Zaniewski and Josephine Trczinski. Mr. Mical's funeral will be held on Saturday March 26, 2011 at 9:45 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and at 10:30 from St. Mark's Church, N. Utica. Burial will be in the West Schuyler Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 5-8. Those so wishing may make donations to the Deerfield Volunteer Fire Department or Feed Our Vets in Stanley's memory.
