Jerry F. Skinner, 71, of Whitesboro, who was affectionately known as "Uncle Jerry" by many and "Grandpa Jerry" by his grandchildren, passed away on Wednesday February 16, 2011 in Faxton -St. Luke's Healthcare. Jerry was born in Utica on June 2, 1939 the son of Ralph B. and Frances (Collins) Skinner. For many years until his retirement he was employed as a truck driver for the Teamsters Union working for various trucking companies in the Utica area. Jerry was predeceased by his loving companion of 40 years Betty Marsden in 2007. Jerry is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Joe Spado, SC, sisters and brothers, Patricia Meyers, Ohio, NY, Charles and Marian Skinner, Ohio, NY, Rodney Skinner, Ohio, NY, and Martha and Timothy Howland, Utica, Jerry is also survived by Betty's children, Patricia and Richard Plumb, Tammy Marsden-Roman and companion Ray, Ronald and Margaret Marsden and Gary and Angie Marsden, close friends, Tony and Gloria Raffule, neighbors, Mary, Michael and Lynette and many cherished grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Jerry will be held on Saturday February 19, 2011 at 5:00 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Calling hours at the funeral home are Saturday afternoon from 2-5. A spring burial will take place in the Ohio Cemetery.
