Emma P. Kelsey, 97, passed away January 29, 2011 at St. Joseph's Nursing Home with her family at her side. Emma was born in Utica on December 25, 1913, the daughter of Charles and Hildegard (Rothaug) Kreber. In 1940 in St. Joseph's Church, Utica, Emma married Parker J. Kelsey. Mr. Kelsey passed away in 1967. Emma was a member of St. Joseph-St. Patrick's Church, Utica. Emma possessed a great devotion for her family. She was a prayerful woman, who never went a day without praying for them. They will forever remember and cherish her compassion for them. Emma is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Francis J. Kelsey, Utica, and David P. and Susan Kelsey, Clinton, seven grandchildren, Judy L. Kentile, David M. Kelsey, Jonathan D. Kelsey, Jennifer J. Pecorella, Steven P. Kelsey, Erin R. McBride and Sarah E. Kelsey, and 10 great grandchildren, Adam Kentile, Evan Kentile, Mia Pecorella, Ryan McBride, Haylie Lyons, David M. Kelsey, Colin McBride, Anthony Pecorella, Johnny Mudge and Aidan Mc Bride. She was predeceased by one brother and six sisters. Mrs. Kelsey's funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 10:30 am at St. Joseph's Nursing Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 - 7 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St. Utica. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Emma's memory.
