Mrs. Rita T. West, 73 of Whitesboro passed away on Wednesday January 26, 2011 at the Masonic Care Community in Utica. Rita was born in Utica on December 7, 1937 the daughter of Frank and Anne (Hargreaves) Tobin. She was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Catholic Academy. On June 20, 1960 Rita married Paul J. West, Sr. at Sacred Heart Church in Utica. For many years, she was employed with Oneida National Bank in Whitesboro. Rita was a member of the former Sacred Heart Church in Utica and a parishioner of the Church of The Sacred Heart and St. Mary's Lady of Czestochowa in NY Mills. Mrs. West is survived by her loving husband Paul; three sons and daughters-in-law, Paul J., Jr. and Kelly West of NY Mills, Frank A. and Julie West of Marion, NY and Kevin M., and Sherri West of Wheatfield, NY; six cherished grandchildren, Alexis, Paul III, Morgan, Brooke, Connor and Sean; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Richard and Molly Tobin of Utica and Stella Tobin of Utica and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, James F. Tobin. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. West's Memorial Mass of Christian burial on Saturday January 29, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of the Sacred Heart and St. Mary's Lady of Czestochowa in NY Mills. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Please omit floral offering and consider a donation to the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Rita's memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., Utica.
