Mrs. Evelyn J. Knobloch, 93, of N. Utica, passed away on March 30, 2017 at The Pines at Utica with her loving family by her side. Evelyn was born in Utica on October 1, 1923, the only child of Charles and Catherine (Muphy) Joslin. She was raised in West Utica, attended St. Patrick's and Kernan Schools and learned to play tennis at Addison Miller Park. An honors graduate of Utica Fee Academy, she was employed by Divine Brothers in Utica in 1941 in their bookkeeping department. It was there that she met the love of her life and husband of 68 years, Harold J. Knobloch. On July 4, 1945, Evelyn and Harold married at St. Peter's Church in N. Utica. Mrs. Knobloch was devoted to her family and home. Simple things made her happy. She enjoyed picnics, reading, playing cards, spending time in the Adirondacks and was an avid bowler. She particularly enjoyed attending harness races with her family at Vernon Downs. Evelyn was a member of St. Peter's Church in N. Utica. Mrs. Knobloch is survived by one daughter, Patricia Knobloch of Utica (and formerly of NY City) and two sons, David Knobloch of Ohio, NY and Ken Knobloch of Utica. She was predeceased by her parents and her loving husband Harold J. Knobloch. Mrs. Knobloch's funeral will be held on Monday, April 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Her burial in St. Peter's Cemetery will be held later in the spring. Calling hours for family and friends are Sunday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
