Mrs. Paula Lourdes (Waterman) Cummings, 72, of New Hartford, passed away peacefully at home on December 30, 2010. She was born on January 21, 1938, the daughter of Edwin and Helen (Burns) Waterman , one of 12 children. She graduated from UCA and worked briefly, prior to marrying the love of her life, Robert F. Cummings on September 2, 1961. She dedicated her life to raising her family and keeping a home with an open door and a warm welcome to all who entered. She was known for her quick wit, nurturing ways, kind heart and generous spirit. Those who knew her, loved her. Mrs. Cummings is survived by her husband, Robert; her son, Eric: her daughter, Elise and her fiancé Allen Belmont and his children, Alexandria and Kaitlyn; her daughter, Christina and her companion, Aaron Barber, and her grandchildren, Aidyn Lourdes Barber and Gage Followill Barber. She is also survived by her siblings, George Waterman, Neil Waterman, Helen Reese, Mary Milioto, Mark Waterman, William Waterman, and Peg Waterman. She was predeceased by her sisters, Clare Calogero, Anne Hardiman, Colleen Reagan and brother, Peter Waterman. Mrs. Cummings funeral will be held on Monday January 3, 2011 at 12:00 noon at Our lady of The Rosary Church, Burrstone Rd., New Hartford where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro will be held at the convenience of her family. Calling hours for family and friends are Monday morning from 9:00-11:00 at the Heintz Funeral Home 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Paula's guardian angels, Alicia McNiel and Jacqueline Jenkins who made such a difference with the care they gave Paula and the special connection and bond they formed with her and the family.
