Wilma M. Hughes Primer, 91, of Clinton, passed away Monday, December 13, 2010, in North Carolina where she was visiting with her daughter. Wilma was born on October 5, 1919 in Franklin Springs, NY, the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Hand) Ankin. She was raised and educated in Clinton. In 1945, Wilma married James Hughes. Mr. Hughes passed away in 1955. In 1958, Wilma married Stanley Primer. Mr. Primer passed away in 1992. Wilma was employed as a waitress for White Tower in Utica and later for Dandee Donuts in Yorkville, retiring in 1982. Wilma was a member of St. Mary's Church in Clinton. She was also a member of the Whitestown American Legion Post # 1113 Ladies Auxiliary. Wilma is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Hughes of North Carolina; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James Hughes of Massachusetts, Patrick and Shelly Hughes of Texas. Also surviving are four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is predeceased by a sister, Hazel Stockbridge, and a brother, Albert Ankin. Mrs. Primer's Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at 1:30 pm at the Clinton Manor Apartments Community Room with Rev. Brian McCaffrey presiding. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton at the convenience of the family. The family will meet relatives and friends from 1 - 3 pm, Sunday, in the Community Room. Those wishing may donate to a charity of your choice in Wilma's memory.
