Helen E. Hamlin, 78, of Clinton, passed away Friday, October 22, 2010 at her home with her family by her side. Helen was born in Kenogami, Quebec, Canada on January 1, 1932, the daughter of Francis and Josephine (Chadwicks) Monahan. She was raised and educated in Richford, VT. On November 27, 1952, Helen married Donald Hamlin in Burlington, VT. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Clinton, the St. Mary's Women's Club, Prayerline, and the Catholic Families Movement. Helen is survived by her beloved husband, Donald Hamlin, Clinton; four daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Gary Mingle, CA, Helene Hamlin and James Rowland, Frankfort, Susan and John Nasci, Rome, Nancy and Brad Dunmyer, NC; one son, Richard Hamlin, CO; eight cherished grandchildren, Maya Harkins, Angelika Harkins, Julya Hamlin, Courtney Diliberto, Tela Diliberto, Garrett Hamlin, Paige Hamlin, and Gaetano Nasci. Also surviving is one sister, Theresa Powers, VA; one brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Haidi Monahan, NC, as well as by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two daughters, Teresa Hamlin, Kathryn Diliberto; one brother, William Monahan; and four sisters and brothers-in-law, Catherine and Wallace Hastings, Lelia and Trelford Murphy, Agnes and Bernard Trudell, and infant sister, Elizabeth Monahan. Mrs. Hamlin's funeral will be held Friday, October 29, 2010 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Church, Clinton where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton. Relatives and friends may call at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton, Thursday evening, from 4 - 7 pm. Those wishing may donate to the St. Mary's Cemetery Association in Helen's memory.
