Scott K. Almas, 47, of Utica, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2010 at his home. Scott was born August 30, 1963 in Utica, NY, the son of Kenneth and Mary (Baechle) Almas. He was raised and educated locally. Scott was a bartender with the Whitestown American Legion Post # 1113. He had several interests and hobbies, including being an avid hockey fan, especially of the NY Rangers; he was an animal lover, especially of his cats; and he loved to cook. Scott is survived by his mother, Mary Almas, Utica; his sister, Kristine Almas and her husband, Michael Rose, Utica; four brothers, Gary Almas, New Hartford, David Almas, NC, Todd Almas, NC, Wayne Almas, NC. Also surviving are five nieces and nephews, Melissa Almas, Jory Lazore, Jessie Rose, Jared Rose, and Shania Rose. Scott is predeceased by his father, Kenneth, in 2009. Mr. Almas funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
