Dominick M. Falchi, 83, of Deerfield, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2010, in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center with his family at his side. Dick was born in Utica on June 28, 1927, the son of the late Antonio and Maria (Russo) Falchi. He was raised and educated locally. Dick served in the United States Navy during World War II. In 1951, he married Lorraine D'Aprix, with whom he shared 28 years and three daughters. She passed in 1979. In 1980, Dick married Mary Patterson with whom he shared two daughters and one son. They would have celebrated their 30th anniversary on October 3. Dick worked at General Electric for 39 years, retiring in 1989. He was an usher at St. Peter's Church for many years. While he enjoyed spending time at the family camp on Kayuta Lake, walking his two canine friends, Barley and Chevy, participating in the "History's Mysteries" and "Quarterbacking the News" classes at the Mohawk Valley Institute for Learning in Retirement (MVILR) at SUNY-IT, discussing politics, and rooting for his New York Yankees, his most favorite thing to do was be a Dad to his six children and grandfather to his four grandchildren. He had a kind heart and was a good friend to all. Dick is survived by his wife, Mary; six children, Nanette and fiancée, Billy Davidson, Penfield; Lisa (Scott) Rowlands, Holland Patent; Marla (Tom) Clark, Fairport; Elizabeth, New York City; Paul (Valerie), Deerfield; and Theresa, New York City. He also leaves four grandchildren, Joshua and Shannon Rowlands, and Ryan and Rose Clark. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five sisters, Theresa Garro, Louise Carpinella, Mickey Talerico, Chris Pontoriero, and Mary Circelli; and three brothers, Albert, Thomas, and Anthony.
