Frances V. Bochenek, 85, a resident of the Martin Luther Home, formerly of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the home. Frances was born March 31, 1924, in Utica, the daughter of John and Mary (Ryczek) Dzedzej. She was raised and educated locally. Frances was employed in the Food Service Department at Faxton Hospital in Utica. Frances was of the Catholic faith and a former parishioner of St. Mary's Church in New York Mills. Busia (grandma) will be remembered for making "the best apple pies in the neighborhood". Frances is survived by a son and daughter in law, Joseph and Cindy Bochenek, Westmoreland; two grandchildren, Joseph Eric (and his wife, Sandy) Bochenek, Beijing, China and Daniel Adam Bochenek, Sauquoit; and one great grandchild, Zoe Bochenek. She is predeceased by a brother Joseph Dzedzej, and two sisters, Helen Dzedzej and Josephine Starczewski. Mrs. Bochenek's funeral will be held Monday, February 15, 2010 at 11:30 am at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton. A spring burial will take place in St. Stanislaus & Casimer Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 9:30 - 11:30 am prior to the service. Those wishing may donate to the Stevens-Swan Humane Society in Frances' memory.
