Mary Agnes (Benway) Wickman went to be with the Lord on February 4, 2010. She was born on April 1, 1915 in Yorkville, NY to Peter and Agnes (Loftus) Benway. Mary graduated from Whitesboro High School. She married Frank L. Wickman on October 24, 1936 in St. Patrick's Church. Frank passed away in October 1982. She was a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart Church until its closing, a member of the Teresians Prayer Group, the Organ Club and belonged to several book clubs. Mary was a loving wife, aunt and good friend to many. She had a great compassion for animals as well as people. She loved to talk and tell her stories which will be greatly missed by many. She was greatly loved by and will be sorely missed by a special niece, Susan E. Wickman. Mary is also survived by two other nieces, Elaine "Sue" Wickman and her children and wives; John and Nancy, Steven and Valerie, Timothy and Laura, Michael and Jennifer and a niece Joyce and her husband James Clark and their children and wives; James and Jennifer Clark, William and Gabrielle Clark and Michael and his companion Paula Burns, and Jodi Henderson, and an adopted niece Linda Lacell. Other surviving loved ones are eight great great nephews and four great great nieces. Mary's funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 8:45 am from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and at 9:30 from St. Paul's Church, Whitesboro. A spring burial will take place in Carr Cemetery, Marcy. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday from 4 -7 pm. Those so wishing may make donations to the Humane Society or the American Heart Association in Mary's memory.
