Richard R. Liitt, 77, of Utica, formerly of Fonda, NY, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at Heritage Healthcare Center, Utica. Richard was born August 9, 1932 in Fonda, NY, the son of Edward and Martha (King) Liitt. He was a high school graduate and went on to own and operate Lee's Cards & Collectibles memorabilia store in Frankfort, NY. On June 19, 1996, Richard married Linda Lester in Schuyler, NY. He was of the Catholic faith and a former member of St. Francis de Sales Church in Utica. He was also a former member of the Eagles Club in Deerfield. Richard is survived by his wife, Linda Liitt, Utica; five daughters, Cindy Liitt, Schenectady, Marietta Walters, Herkimer, Michele Schulze, Herkimer, Rebecca Liitt, Ilion, Roberta Liitt, Frankfort; five sons, Eric Liitt, Schenectady, Gary Liitt, Schenectady, Shawn Liitt, Utica, Darren Riley, Oneonta, Christopher Conklin, Canastota; one brother, Henry "Hank" Liitt, Hagaman, NY. Also surviving are many grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is predeceased by two sisters. A Memorial Service for Mr. Liitt will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 6:00 pm at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., Utica with Rev. David Sambor presiding. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
