George F. Wagner, 63, of Carolyn Courts, New York Mills, formerly of New York City, passed away January 16, 2010, at his home. George was born in Utica, NY, January 22, 1946, the son of Raymond and Rosemary (Jenny) Wagner. He was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of UFA. George spent most of his adult life in New York City. In his early years, he was a computer programmer. At one time, he was a sole owner and editor of a newspaper in North Carolina and most recently, until his retirement, he was a building supervisor for the Rockrose Corporation of New York City. In Norwich, CT, George was married to Amy C. Gross. After his retirement in 2009, George moved back to the Utica area. He was an avid reader, wrote much poetry, and enjoyed photography and astronomy. George is survived by Amy and their daughter, Natalie, of New York City, and 11 sisters and brothers, Sister Rose Raymond Wagner, OFC, of Manlius, NY, Marie Wagner, of Olathe, KS, Elaine and husband, Joe Venarro, of Marcy, Joann and husband, Jeffery Szalkowski, of Rochester, Catherine and husband, James Miller, of Utica, Marcianne and husband, Matthew Heaton, of Leawood, KS, Elizabeth and husband, Steve Paul, of Exeter, NH, Thomas and Lois Wagner, of New Hartford, Paul and Karen Wagner, of New Hartford, Stephen Wagner and Richelle Hawks, of Little Falls, and Philip and Cathy Wagner, of Rush, NY. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in the extended Wagner, Jenny and Gross families. George was predeceased by his parents. Mr. Wagner's funeral service is at the convenience of his family. There are no calling hours.
