CLINTON – Elizabeth J. Redmond, 89, of Clinton, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2017 at the Brookdale Residential Community. Betty was born February 14, 1928 in Utica, the daughter of Frank G. and Mary K. (Keitchel) Ogden. She was raised and educated in Utica, graduating from St. Joseph’s Parochial Grammar school and in 1946, from Utica Free Academy. On June 28, 1952, Betty married Clarence A. (Mike) Redmond, sharing a union of over 64 years. She had been employed with Duxback in Utica for many years, before moving to the farm in Clinton in 1972, where she sold antiques from her barn, raised chickens, and grew rhubarb. She loved gardening, birds, and spending time with her family. Betty was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church. Betty is survived by her beloved husband, Clarence (Mike) Redmond, Clinton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and William Heintz II, Lake Champlain, Dianne and Dr. James Bordley, Cooperstown; three grandchildren, Will Heintz, Jamie and Jessie Bordley; two great-grandchildren, James and Calvin Bordley; a sister-in-law and her husband, Patricia and David King, Marcy, as well as several sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a special friend, Mike Orsino, Clinton, whom Betty thought of like a son. Betty is predeceased by a son, Thomas Redmond; and her two brothers Michael and George Ogden. Mrs. Redmond’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 9:30 am at St. Mary’s Church, 13 Marvin St., Clinton. A private interment will take place in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Whitestown. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are entrusted to the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton. Those wishing may donate to St. Mary’s Church in Betty’s memory.
