Mr. Stanley Zalewski, 91 of Jamesville, NY formerly of Marcy passed away on Friday October 23, 2009 at his home. Stanley was born in Utica on August 2, 1918 the son of John and Josephine (Krupa) Zalewski and received his education in Utica schools. On May 10, 1941 Stanley married Alma Pudney in St. Joseph's Church in Utica, a loving union of 48 years until Alma's death in 1989. Stanley Honorably served as a staff Sergeant in the US Army during WW II. For many years he was employed as a railroad car repairman and car inspector with Conrail retiring in 1982. He was a member of American Legion Post 1113 in Whitesboro, was a parishioner of St. Peter's Church in N. Utica and enjoyed doing wood carvings. Mr. Zalewski is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Robert Eck of Jamesville, NY; two sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley, Jr. and Sandy Zalewski of Whitesboro, NY and Theodore and Marilyn Zalewski of Weedsport, NY; three sisters-in-law, Lillian Zalewski of FL, Elizabeth Zalewski of Baldwinsville, NY and Lillian Zalewski of Waterville, NY; 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 5 brothers, Joseph, Edward, Walter, Frank and Chester Zalewski. Mr. Zalewski's funeral will be held on Tuesday October 27, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. A private burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Yorkville.
