Mrs. Mary Ann Berg, 88 of Marcy passed away Thursday August 6, 2009 at her home. Mary Ann was born in Dingolfing, Germany on May 20, 1921 the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Fisher) Setzer. She came to the United States as a young girl and received her education in local schools. In 1943, Mary Ann married Clarence E. Berg at Calvary Episcopal Church in Utica, a union of 65 years until Clarence's death in 2008. During WW II she was employed with Rhodes Hospital in New Hartford and after the birth of her children dedicated her time to raising and nurturing her Children. Mary Ann enjoyed gardening and was an animal advocate. Mrs. Berg is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Kurt Richard berg and his wife Joan Supiro of Syracuse, NY and Paul A. Berg and his wife Wavalene of Clay, NY; three grandchildren, Morgan Supiro-Berg of Syracuse, NY, Paul J. Berg of NY Mills, NY and Armand R. Berg of Clay, NY; one brother Joseph Otto Setzer of FL; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Berg's funeral will be held on Monday August 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Yorkville. Calling hours for family and friends are Monday 12:00-2:00 prior to the service.
