Mark A. Mustard, age 41, of Utica, NY, died July 20, 2009, at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 26, 1968, in Utica, NY, the son of Richard and Ann Mustard. He attended Kennedy High School and graduated in 1987. He attended classes at MVCC and Cobleskill University in pursuit of his love of computers. He was united in marriage on August 20, 2005, to Danielle Geer of Whitesboro, NY. Danielle is employed by The Legal Aid Society as a staff attorney. Mark (Bubba to his beloved wife) was employed at Hannaford Markets of Clinton as a night grocery associate. He was an avid sports fan, following his favorite teams, the N.Y. Giants and the N.Y. Yankees, and watching NASCAR racing. Mark is survived by his wife, Danielle; his mother, Ann (Julian) Mustard; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Teri Jo Mustard; and his in-laws, Dennis and Gail Geer, Justin Geer, and Kenneth and Betty Schaaf. He is further survived by his aunt, Shirley Julian, of Liverpool, NY; cousins, Cheryl, Lynn, Lisa, Gina and Guy Michael Julian and families; and his beloved goddaughter, Megan "Peanut". He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Mustard; grandparents, Frank and Smiles Julian, of Utica, NY; and his godfather and uncle, Guy Julian, of Liverpool, NY. A graveside funeral service for Mark will be held on Friday, July 24, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Whitesboro. Calling hours at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, will be held Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 and Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 prior to his funeral service. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society and the YWCA. A special mention to all of his beloved friends for your unfailing support and presence that will be treasured and has left his family forever in your debt. Your gifts of time and love has humbled Mark's family and you will always be in their hearts. A special "Thank You" to all the nurses and staff at St. E's for your generous care and attention to both Mark and his family. Your attention and care was greatly appreciated. To Doctor K. and Doctor D., "Thank You" for giving all you could and fighting until the very end.
