Joseph J Donda II, 28 yrs old, died unexpectedly June 28, 2009, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Joe was born October 30, 1980, in Utica, NY, the son of Darlene Dickan and Joseph F Donda. Joe was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. He was employed as an assistant manager at Midas Automotive Service in Rome. Joe is fondly remembered for his sense of humor (including a stream of outrageous text messages that always had his friends laughing) and his big-hearted generosity. In his spare time he enjoyed movies, video games, fitness, shopping, riding 4-wheelers and snowmobiles. Family and friends deeply admired his exceptional devotion to his son and best buddy Evan Donda. Joe is survived by his young son Evan Donda and Evan's mother Alena Aley, Joe's mother Darlene Dickan, father Joseph F Donda, brothers Jasen Dickan and David Donda, sister Jessica Bass, stepbrother Al Sykes and half sister Samantha Lee Donda. He also leaves his maternal grandparents John and Elgie Dickan, two nephews, Landon & Cole Bass and one niece Piper Bass. In addition, he will be sadly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. Joe's funeral will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Heintz Funeral Home 408 Herkimer Road, Utica. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica. Calling hours for family and friends are Wednesday (today) from 4:00-7:00 pm.
