Frank J. Skutnik, Sr., 54, of Verona, formerly of Utica, passed away unexpectedly, on Monday, May 4, 2009 at Oneida City Hospital. Frank was born in Utica on March 30, 1955, the son of Marion and Mary Gromadzka Skutnik. He was raised and educated locally, and was employed at Hamilton College, Clinton. Frank was an avid football fan, especially of the Buffalo Bills. He enjoyed fishing with his family and working on cars. Frank was of the Roman Catholic faith. Frank is survived by his wife, Deborah, Verona; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marisa and Paul Ciola, Utica, Chassidy and Mickey Reff, Cape Vincent; two sons, Frank Skutnik, Jr., Verona, Channing Skutnik, Verona; a "special nephew", Jason Skutnik, Whitesboro; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Benny Skutnik, Utica, Henry and Ruth Skutnik, Utica; a sister, Charlotte Feigenbaum, Utica. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Frank is predeceased by two sisters, Diane Griffith and Irene Jacopelle. Mr. Skutnik's funeral will be held on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 12:00 noon at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Yorkville. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 10 - 12 prior to the funeral service. Those wishing may donate to the American Heart Association in Frank's memory.
