Obituary of Henry L. Skelton

Mr. Henry L. Skelton, 92 a resident of the Pine of Utica Nursing Home, formerly of the Meadows, New Hartford and Whitesboro passed away on Sunday March 22, 2009 at the nursing home. Henry was born in Gray, NY on February 14, 1917 the son of Claude and Pearl (Brown) Skelton. He was raised in Hinckley NY, was a graduate of Holland Patent High School and Utica College. Henry honorably served as a nurse dental technician in the US Army during WW II. In 1962 Henry married Marguerite Pulver in Norwich, NY. Henry was employed with Mel Gooch Cadillac in Utica and later was owner and operator of Hemar Mobil Home Repair and Supply in New Hartford retiring in 1983. He was a member of American Legion Utica Post 229, a past member of the Commanders Club with the DAV and enjoyed volunteering at the Meadows in New Hartford. Mr. Skelton is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Mary Jo Skelton of Cicero, NY; one brother and sister-in-law, Miles (Michael) and Shirley Skelton of Newport, NY; 6 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Marguerite in 1983, his daughter Linda Lou Skelton, three sisters, Kay DeAngelis, Violet Rathbun and Anne Eisman and three brother, Lavern Skelton, John Skelton and Claude Skelton. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday April 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Interment will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Kirkland. There are no calling hours.
