Mrs. Patricia A. Abel, 62 of Marcy, NY passed away unexpectedly on Saturday February 28, 2009 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford. Patricia was born April 14 1946 in Utica the daughter of Robert and Mildred (Brown) Oglesby and received her education in Utica schools. On November 16, 1963, Patricia married Richard F. Abel in Utica. She was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star, American Legion Whitestown Post 1113 Ladies Auxiliary and the Whitestown Vets. Patricia enjoyed gaming at the casino and was of the Methodist Faith. Mrs. Abel is survived by her beloved husband, Richard of Marcy; her father, Robert C. Oglesby of Utica; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Richard & Lisa Abel of Whitesboro, Steven Abel of Utica and Mark Abel of Marcy; two cherished grandchildren, Seth Abel of Rome and Austin Abel of Whitesboro; one brother and sister-in-law, Eugene (Gene) and Linda Oglesby of LaCross, Fl and special family friends, Teddi and Joe Minuti of New Hartford. Mrs. Abel's funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Her interment will be held in the Spring. Calling hours for family and friends are Monday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Those so wishing may consider a donation to the Stevens-Swan Humane Society or American Heart Association in Patricia's memory.
