Helen T. Kokosenski, 86, of Utica passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 19, 2009. Helen was born in Utica on February 18, 1923 a daughter of John and Anna (Lewoszko) Bunkiewicz (Blynkiewicz) and received her education in local schools. At St. Stanislaus Church, Utica on July 31, 1948 Helen married Stephen Kokosenski a blessed union of 43 years until his passing away on December 24, 1991. For many years Helen was employed with the Dunlop Tire Co. and then later with Beaunit Fibers until it closing. She was of the catholic faith. Helen will be remembered for her good hearted spirit, her keen wit and the ability to see the good side of everything. Her family will treasure the memories of the old stories she told. She enjoyed reading and her trips to Green Lakes with her daughters. Helen is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law; Joanne and Thomas Connors, Whitesboro and Janice Kokosenski, Utica, and her beloved granddaughter; Kelly Sugarman and husband Michael, Quincy, MA. Helen was predeceased by brothers and sisters; Antoinette, Stanley and Stella Bunkiewicz and Eva Combar. Mrs. Kokosenski's funeral will be held on Monday, February 23, 2009 at 10:30 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and at 11:00 from Our Lady of The Rosary Church, New Hartford. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Whitesboro. Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday morning from 9-10:30.
