Mrs. Dorothy J. Graves, 81, of Utica, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at her home with her loving family by her side. Dorothy was born March 4, 1935 in Sag Harbor, Long Island, New York, the daughter of William and Ianthe (Littlefield) Maynard and received her education on Long Island. In July of 1981, Dorothy married Robert L. Graves. As a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Dorothy dedicated her life to her family. She was of the Protestant faith. Mrs. Graves is survived by her loving husband, Robert; three daughters and one son-in-law, Terri and Dan smith of TX, Tanya Zinke of Utica and Yalonda Graves and her fiancée David Young, Jr. of Remsen; four sons, and one daughter-in-law, William Egert of Utica, Howard Zinke of Utica, Robert Jr., and Dana Graves of Oriskany and Russell Graves and his fiancée Wendy Gagliardo of Waterville; a sister-in-law, Patricia Maynard of Utica as well as 19 cherished grandchildren, 19 adored great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Darlene Egert; three sisters, Lucille Topping, Elizabeth Zaykowski and Dolores Maynard and three brothers, William Maynard, Carlton (Bo) Maynard and Gordon (Sunny) Maynard. Services entrusted to Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., Utica will be held at the convenience of the family.
