Obituary of Carole B. Brady

Carole B. (Thompson) Brady, a resident of The Villas at Brookdale Senior Living in Clinton, passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 12, 2008, at her home. Born Carole Baron in Bridgeport, CT, on May 21, 1917, to the late Carl and Anna (Suponski) Baron, she was a graduate of Roger Ludlow High School in Fairfield, CT. She was employed by the General Electronic Co., until her marriage to Lucian F. Thompson on February 4, 1941. They moved to N. Syracuse in 1947, and then to Clinton 1956. Lucian (Tommy) passed away in 1967. On October 23, 1982, Carole was married to Edwin Brady. Ed died in 2006. Carole retired from the Hamilton College Library in 1982. She was a girl-scout leader, a past member of the Questers, an avid golfer and past member of the Skenandoa Club of Clinton. Carole was a member of St. Mary's Church, Clinton. She was a member of several bridge clubs, which was her favorite pastime. Carole leaves one son and three daughters, Lucian B. Thompson and Christine Spano, of Sauquoit, Carole Ann Byrne, of Clark Mills, Pamela and Edward Brown, of Theresa, and Susan and Thomas Kirkwood, of Syracuse. She also leaves 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Carole leaves five step-children, Steven and Christine Brady, and Gail Ray, of Wappingers Falls, Nancy and Peter Strohecker, of CO, Jean and Lynn Abshire, of CA, and Sandy and John Clair, of New Hartford. She leaves a brother, Frank Baron; and a sister, Jean Ahlberg, both of CT; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Florence Freer and Dorothy Gaul, and a son-in-law, Conrad Byrne. Mrs. Brady's Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at St. Mary's Church, Clinton, at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Her burial at the convenience of her family will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton. There are no calling hours. Donations in Carole's memory will be appreciated to St. Mary's Church in lieu of flowers. Her arrangements are entrusted to the Heintz Funeral Home, Clinton, NY.
