Jeanette C. Cusworth Cole, 89, a resident of St. Luke's Home, New Hartford, formerly of Jeanette Drive, North Utica, passed away Monday, December 8, 2008 at the nursing home. Jeanette was born in Utica on April 9, 1919, the daughter of Leonard and Helena (Schultz) Cusworth. She was raised and educated locally, attending Utica schools and going on to Utica Beauty School. On November 2, 1935, Jeanette married Walter Bud' Cole in Sacred Heart Church, Utica. Mr. Cole passed away in 1999. Jeanette was the owner and operator of Jeanette's Beauty Salon in North Utica. She later went to work for Broad Acres Skilled Nursing Facility, running the activities department. She was a member of St. Mark's Church in North Utica. Jeanette is survived by her daughter-in-law, Susan O'Day Cole, Florida; by two grandsons, John Cole, Florida, Jason Cole, Utica, as well as by several great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Walter, Jeanette is predeceased by her son, Kenneth, in 2005, as well as two sisters, Dorothy Plante and Anna Woolridge, and three brothers, John, Bill, and Edward Cusworth. Jeanette's funeral will be held Friday, December 12, 2008, at 10:00 am at St. Mark's Church, North Utica where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitestown. Relatives and friends may call at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Road, Utica, Thursday evening, from 4 - 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may donate to St. Mark's Church in Jeanette's memory.
